"It is what it is" I told my mother-in-law.
She's a traditionalist. Well, traditional artificial I should say. It has that "not dropping a lot of needles, doesn't need water, possibly environmentally friendly although that's not her concern, very triangular shape" thing going for it.
Ours is what I call "natural" and I like everything about it. Even if it is over 14 feet tall, needs a very long and scary ladder climb to completely decorate, and picture hanging wire to keep from toppling on small children and large televisions often located in the same room.
I'm imagining a future (10 years away) where artificial trees are called "real" and the actual pine tree we have is considered outdated, a bit straggly, and as one person called it, "weeping" with sadness.

Me Tough Guy, carry big stick

Remember, only have one beer before attempting this. Then another while you're on the ladder, and perhaps a third once you get down if you enjoy that sort of thing

The finished product. It's a doozy of a tree, all light and fury and, well, really big and natural. Sure, the branches hang downward, but we choose to "weep" with happiness about another unique tree

Because folks have been clamoring for pictures of my in-laws that moved out from Raaaaaaaaakferd, Illinois. That's, uhhh, lessee... Smoman, Big Red, Emie, and Danielle O'Neill. Welcome to Colorado!
